A nursery needs to be a vibrant and a lively space and the color scheme of the nursery places a large role in creating the right effect.
Ideally choose a base color of your choice and then you can play with multiple shades of that color on different surfaces. Make sure that the bedding, rugs and drapes are color coordinated.
If your child is old enough to have preferences, you can choose a cartoon character as the basis of your nursery décor. You can choose designs, patterns and colors that either coordinate or contrast with the cartoon character’s primary colors.

Creating a beautiful nursery can be a fun as well as a highly satisfying activity. If you have the time, money and effort to invest, you can create a beautifully themed nursery by getting the right accent.
You can coordinate accents with the main theme of the nursery. So, if the theme is Noah’s Ark, you can get boat shaped accents in the room. Similarly, if the theme of the nursery is cowboy, you can use accents in the shape of stirrups or cowboy hats. If Nemo is the theme of the nursery, you can use fish shaped accents to decorate the room.

We all want our child’s nursery to look as cute as possible. Yet, at the same time, it is crucial to ensure that the furniture in the nursery is designed keeping the safety of your child in mind.
Ensure that there are no sharp corners in the nursery furniture as your child could hurt himself or herself on it. Also, once kids reach a certain age, they tend to climb over furniture. Ensure that no furniture is kept near unbarred windows. Also, avoid open shelves as kids can hurt themselves while trying to climb them. Ideally, the nursery should have carpets or rugs to cushion a fall.

Use bright colored curtains and upholstery in the nursery to add more vibrancy and life to the room. Depending on the age and preference of your child, you can use cartoon themed curtains, bedcovers, pillow cases and blankets.
However, you need to ensure that the curtain or drapes do not reach the floor of the nursery. Children tend to grab and play with the lower edges of drapery and are at a risk from being suffocated by them.
